Directions to school: Take I-79 to Exit 119 (Route 50 - Clarksburg/Bridgeport). Turn onto Route 50 West toward Parkersburg. Follow for approximately 5 miles to Route 98 Junction (at stop light). Take a left on Route 98 and travel Ť mile. Take another left, staying on Route 98, for another Ť mile. Take a left into the school (main parking is in back).

Liberty High School begins a new era in the 2008-2009 season. For 36 years, Tom Hilton has been the sole and unquestioned leader of the Mountaineer wrestling program. Hilton has been the only wrestling coach in school history, guiding Steve Daniels and Mike Fortier to the first two individual state championships in Harrison County history.In addition, Liberty loses close to 350 career victories with the loss of Damon Kindel, Anthony Woetko, Tony Washington, and the winningest wrestler in Mountaineer history, Cruz McIntyre.

Liberty will attempt to assuage these losses with a trio of state qualifiers. Senior Brett Floyd, the only current Mountaineer wrestler with four years in the program, will attempt to improve upon last year's state tournament run with a trip to the podium. Joining him will be Junior state qualifiers Cory Kindel, and Brent McNemar.

Liberty will also be enjoying an infusion of youth from Mountaineer Middle. For the first time in Liberty history, seven Freshmen will enter the fray with middle school wrestling experience. Under the guidence of veteran mentor, Steve Harlow, Mountaineer Middle will continue to improve the program of the high school in the years to come.

In addition, Scott Pennington, and Kevin Anderson will add depth to the coaching position and aid Coach Janes in the development of the high school program.

As has been the case for the last 20 years, the Clarksburg Jr. Wrestling program will provide the program with quality wrestlers. Coach Calvin Anderson enters his 4th year at the helm of this important position.
