  Keyser High School Wrestling is looking improve the annual Kiwanis Tournament to have a one day pool tournament on 4 mats. There will be 8 teams and two pools. 4 teams will compete against each other on two mats and 4 more teams will compete against each other on the other two mats. The second round we will match up the 1,2,3, & 4 in each pool and they will wrestle to get a true 1,2,3,& 4 place team. There will be trophies for the 1-4 teams. We have changed the format this year to ensure that teams and wrestlers get an optimum early season wrestling experience while keeping it a one day tournament. The date of the tournament will be Dec. 12th as usual and will stay at the $75.00 entry fee. We are looking for 3 more teams!   The Clarion University Wrestling program will be hosting high school duals on Saturday December 5th.
  The event will bring bring quality teams together early in the season to get some great wrestling. Friday night December 4, 2009 there will be a tri-meet between Clarion, Binghamton, and East Stroudsburg. All teams competing in the Dec. 5 duals will be granted admission to this contest. Additionally, any team wishing to hold a practice Friday at Clarion will be able to do so.

  The VIII annual War on the Shore has moved venues to the 45,000 sq. ft. OC Convention Center in OC, Maryuland, December 4-5, 2009.
  We will increase the size from 24 to 32 teams and include a JV tournament on 8 mats. This is one of the Premier tournaments in the Mid-atlantic. We have room for 3 more teams and I would like WV to be represented. The tournament features the state champions from De, Md, and top teams from Virginia. We have also secured 400 ocean front hotel rooms ranging in price from $59 -$109. This is an outstanding event that last year featured over 20 nationally ranked wrestlers and 100 state ranked wrestlers.

  The Dobyns-Bennett High School Indian Classic, Kingsport Tennessee, is a two day tournament on December 11 & 12.
  We will host a 32 team double elimination individual tournament on 8 mats. We medal 1st through 8th with custom medals. We award the top 6 teams with guillotine trophies and there as an award for OW in lower and upper weights. Last year we had teams from West Virginia, Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Alabama. There were 26 teams competing for the championship and we will take up to 32 this year. Last year we were finished by 7:00pm. That included giving out all of the awards. Come join the fun at this years Indian Classic. We will stop when we receive the first 32 contracts. The entry fee is $175.00. There were 31 All-State Wrestlers that participated in our tournament last year and 12 teams that finished in the top 25 in their prospective state tournaement.

  With growing demand for Duals Tournaments that draw East vs West on many levels the Midwest Grand Challenge has been added to the 2009 Spring Duals Schedule May 16, 2009. Excellent get ready for NHSCA top teams from Michigan, Illinois and other Midwest States.
  
  Easy drive from from the Pittsburgh, Chicago, Indy, and Cleveland areas.
  
  Folkstyle Duals continue to build and draw talent. Added Folkstyle Duals Tournament May 16th, 2009 Kellogg Arena will host the Midwest Grand Challenge. Same format and many of the same teams as the August Grand River Rumble. The 2009 GRR will remain at Lowell, Michigan as the Grand Challenge will be at Kellogg Arena.
