1. Merry Christmas!!!!
2. Thank you to all of you that have been putting forth EXTRA effort in sending us at Bear Tracks headquarters your match results.
3. Your input is needed. You can text me at 704-258-7688 with your results. If your school doesn’t care about communicating scores, that doesn’t mean your wrestler needs to be left out in the cold, unranked and unrecognized.
4. Honorable Mention (HM) wrestlers are listed in alphabetical order. They need to defeat a ranked wrestler to move on up.

Past Information:
1. Wrestlers are ranked per established criteria. Ranking will change as head to head matches occur, wrestlers change weight classes and when a wrestler enters into action.
2. All regional head to head matches are now deemed significant. These matches will be tracked under each regional heading. This portion will be forthcoming.
3. All other significant matches will be recorded as last season.
4. There will be a few non-ranked wrestlers “perched” down under their region heading. This is where non-state tournament wrestlers and freshman will be placed until they win matches to justify ranking. Look for this area to grow. This is now under review by the Bear Tracks Research & Development Team.
5. We have now added HM or Honorable Mention. All “HM” wrestlers will be listed in alphabetical order. An HM wrestler is drawing attention but they have yet to defeat a ranked wrestler withing their ranking classification and ranking weight class.
6. As wrestlers change weight classes, rankings change. As matches occur, rankings change.

Looking over results, at 160 or 170, there’s a kid that randomly showed up as a Junior for Elkins. Not really sure what weight he is seems Elkins doesn’t look to compete much and not sure if it’s the fault of the AD or the lack of coaching experience. Seems that him along with the Boland kid could do really well just have no school support or depth in the wrestling room to make significant progress

Might you be referring to Elkins' 195 Barrickman?

After mentioning the Barrickman kid I Had to go back and search for him because he hasn’t wrestled much. But I was referring to Rosario? But now that you mention Barrickman hes another one at Elkins. I’m assuming he’s injured?

I watched both Barrickman and Rosario wrestle at Raider Rumble. Barrickman looked really good. Rosario looked good but not quite as good as Barrickman

Boland and Barrickman began the preseason ranked because of their state tournament performance.

Mr. Rosario didn't attend the state tournament and due to the lack of information pertaining to Elkins' match results, there isn't much we can do to rank their wrestlers.

I will say that I obtained Boland's weight class because of his Super 32 registration. I was looking for Barrickman. One of the Bear Tracks field operatives from the Coal Fields sector verified he was again at 195 while wrestling at the Liberty Wrestling event opening week. Thank you once again.

In addition, I contacted Elkins High School during preseason through their Facebook page. I simply asked for the Wrestling coach's name. I was not answered. I followed up. I was advised to contact the principal to seek the wrestling coach's name. I didn't do that. I did reach out to four different head coaches from other schools to obtain Elkins' coach's name. I have been too busy obtaining easier information and rankings wrestlers that have their scores posted.

There is a lot taking place behind the scenes to obtain results and who is in what weight class for ranking updates.

I rank using the best available information. Without information, we cannot rank. I hate it for the wrestlers.

Im not in the Elkins area I just noticed that Rosario kids name floating around. I did ask a friend down that way and apparently hes from VA, got hurt last season between lacrosse and 7v7 football season and worsened at a wrestling tournament in Indiana? Ended up needing MCL repair with ACL and PCL injuries. This November was his first time back on the mat after 18 months or so and is supposedly not pushing himself just yet.

Not sure how relevant Elkins is in the wrestling scene his name was just one that came up and then saw him pin the Cyphers kid. I could try to get second hand info out of there and pass along in contribution to your efforts. Boland looks good and the Barrickman kid is a little banged up

I'm assuming that the updated rankings for the upper 7 weight classes will be coming out soon by Bearhugger and may shed some light on my question, but I'll ask it it now anyway. I noticed that Dom Parker from University is not wrestling at the OVAC tournament and Shaggy has removed him from the OVAC rankings altogether and doesn't even have him listed as injured. However, he is still ranked on the WVMat rankings. Does anyone care to post an update on his status. Hope he is still in the hunt. He is one of my favorites to have a chance to win the states and I always have liked his style and watching him wrestle. He looked really good at some of the preseason tournaments.

Spoke with someone from University at the OVAC tournament and found out that Dom is injured/sick and will be back in the near future.
