Wheeling Park Duals
What is the format of the Wheeling Park Duals?
I know it is a two day event. Is it limited to 10 teams and each school wrestles all others over the course of the two days?
Or is there more than ten schools and some schools will not meet?

Re: Wheeling Park Duals
I think the first day is six pools of six teams. And then the second day they are repooled depending on where they finished in their day one pool so that all the pool winners are pooled together, all the 2nds, all the 3rds etc
Re: Wheeling Park Duals
I noticed there are no PA teams this year. In the past there were several. Still looks like 32 teams though. Should be good.

You have more posts on here than anyone. How is it that you don't know to simply check the results from years past to see the amount of teams in the Park Duels or go OVAEC and look up previous results ?

1. Everything changes everyday. I could look at last year's Bob Zide Williamstown tournament scores and draw all kinds of conclusions for this season. They would all be wrong because of the date change of the Single A challenge.
2. I know how to use the forum. I asked the question and a member was nice enough to send a link with all of this season's teams. Another member was nice enough to explain how it worked in the past. Since this information was shared, it can be used by the masses whereas my personal research across 2 to 3 websites would not. I do not see the value in your post.
3. A few years ago, I found a few of your jabs annoying. I then learned a lot. You do not realize how nice I am.

The PA teams definitely strengthened the field. There were some brutally good wrestlers coming down from PA. Still, it looks like a solid field, and the toughest dual tournament in the state by quite a large margin. National Guard duals rings in second, but simply doesn't draw in out of state competition like WP does (aside from a few very tough Kentucky teams).
The best stretch of the season is just starting (WP Duals, Winners Choice, WSAZ; Nat Guard duals), and the results are about to start pouring in. I love it.

I looked up the admission prices for the duals. Looks like you can buy the tickets in advance or have them on call. Prices are $8 adults and $6 for students. Ticket prices came from Etix.com>tickets>wphs-dualswrestling.

GWs Lorea is a rough customer. Prestons Miller is a killer. Ripleys Starkey and Haynes were on and off the mat so fast, I missed the match.

Re: Wheeling Park Duals
Gator, You mentioned the Pa. schools not being in the Park Duals. It was, as you said, fabulous when the came. What happened was that some Pa coach from the eastern side of the state decided to wrestle in nothing but Dual Meet tournaments. The result was that come districts, some teams came in with kids records being something like 75 & 4 etc. So the state changed the points for dual meet tournaments , thus preventing these teams that competed here before, to come because it now cost them way more points. I would love to see these teams be able to return again. See you at the OVAC's in a few. Soupbone

That stinks Soupbone! So it cost them more weigh ins? Must want them to wrestle in state bracketed tournaments. You still had 32 teams, so that’s good.
I’ll look for you in Wheeling next month my friend! Happy New Year!

Hall beat Rea, 12-8. 10-6 with 30 sec, Rea got takedown 10-8, 15 sec tried a desperation tilt and got reversed. 12-8. Good match, Hats off to Payton great wrestler and good kid. They may meet again next Saturday at Cameron Tournament.
