WVU vs Glenville

Postby dunbar76 » Thu Nov 07, 2024 1:28 pm

Always nice to win. Cottrell is building a nice team in Glenville. Was the kid that beat Bush expected to be competitive or was it an upset? I don’t/ haven’t followed it that much this year yet to know. Was Payton just moved up for this match or is he going to be 174?

Kyle Homet was a very good High School wrestler from Waynesburg, PA, so I don't know that I would call his victory over Ian Bush an upset. I would call it a surprise because most people have never heard of him, and I have not heard his name since he was in High School. With him and Nick Johnson back to back in the lineup makes a nice little one-two punch and it is nice to see Gavin Quiocho up a weight to 141.

Peyton is still in the lineup at 165, I am guessing he wrestled up a weight while Conley is still healing up to make room for Try Johnson.

Whereas Bush was ranked #23 and most people have not heard of Homet, I would indeed call it an upset. Now, I have not done the needed research. If Flo already had Homet listed as an honorable mention, then it might not be considered an upset.
Holy smokes. Braxton Amos works out with a landmine now!!!!!!

Homer is listed on the roster as a graduate student and previous school as Life. Yes, Waynesburg.

Sorry, Homet, not Homer.

Nick Johnson is an absolute beast. He is a very nice addition to the team. PHS graduate was runner up as a Junior and State Champ his senior year.
