Two is optimistic but very possible...Watters and Hall both have a very chance to make the podium this year. It is the national tournament and unexpected things are going to happen. Out of the other three, I would put more money on Jett to be the third All American, but for him to have that good of a tournament finish there is going to have to be more than a few things go his way. One of the best things about this tournament is the unexpected things that happen. It has been a long season and guys are hurt so if a guy shows up near 100% healthy that could be a huge benefit.

Disappointing opening round. Two guys lose to guys they’ve beaten in the past and lost to in the past as well. Tough Draw for Jett but was hoping for more. 125 is crazy.

Great starts for Watters and Hall.

Definitely a disappointing round. I felt like they all had winnable matches but the three losses were to good opponents. Titus had a close match victory over his guy very early in the year and Conley had already lost to his opponent early in the year as well. Let's hope they can come back through on the back side of the bracket and pick up the wins they need to.

Strickenberger looked gassed in the 2nd period. I hope he is fully recovered by this evening and would guess that with the extra hours after weigh ins he will be a different wrestler. That dude needs to go 133.

I think Jett’s knee injury added to him looking gassed too. Problem with Titus, is once someone scouts him and knows he’ll give up a leg, in order to hit a roll through or jonsey tilt..they are ready for it. Watters has McDougal next, who he lost too earlier in the year, so hopefully he made some changes. Hall has a tough match against Taylor (Neb), who is the seeded ahead of him. Conley has a good chance to beat Faison from NCST

Jett’s knee was definitely hurting him, I hate to see him go 0-2 but it is what it is. Hopefully next year he makes the jump to 133 where he can concentrate more on wrestling and not on cutting weight.
Titus has a tough path back to the Round of 12 and if he gets there he will probably have Brock Hardy from Nebraska. This isn’t great news but at least he has path no matter how tough it is.
Watters has a very tough match Caleb Henson from Va Tech. Henson majored him in the first tournament of the season so let’s see how much ground Ty has made up.
Hall totally out wrestled his guy last night but was unable to secure a takedown at the end because the guy kept moving backwards the entire match. This was truly a heartbreaking loss for Peyton, for his opponent to give up as much ground as he did the entire match and he still lost. His Round of 12 match is not good, he will have the loser of Ramirez and Caliendo. Both guys are very good and will be a hard match for Peyton to win.
Conley looked a little dinged up as well. He had his chances to win both of his matches but just came up a little short. His future is bright and will be a podium threat soon enough.

The last time WVU has had multiple All-Americans was 2005, and as a team they should finish inside the top 20. With any luck this will help with future recruits and transfers.

Congrats to Watters and Hall. Both had some huge backside wins. Watters looks like a future contender. Would of been insane if he could of battled all the way back to 3rd.

Now we need to focus on keeping him because other fan pages, iowa for one, are already saying they need to throw a big bag of money at Watters. I’m sure they aren’t the only ones.
