Des anyone have any ideas creative ways to have tournaments with the guidelines being how they are. One idea I had was maybe 16 teams getting together and having four pools at different locations during the week, maybe a tuesday or wednesday. Then repooling on Saturday based on results?

Example:

Teams 1,2,3,4 at Location A Teams 9,10,11,12 at Location C

Teams 5,6,7,8 at Location B Teams 13,14,15,16 at Location D

Then repool on the weekend based on results from Preliminary pools?

Thoughts?


Not sure how to do brackets unless round robin during week and take top 4 wrestlers from each weight class for round robin on the weekend?

Im open to suggestions. What are anyone's ideas??

If we can come up with 4 schools in different parts of the state willing to host "preliminary quads" on a tuesday or wednesday this could work. Just a suggestion? Maybe Braxton/fairmont area, Near Huntington, maybe milton or barboursville area, Somewhere near ripley or parkersburg up I-77, and I could host in Beckley for the southern part. Then a neutral site in kanawha county may be near the middle of the state. Maybe like GW has had in the past?? Anyone up to something like that??

Let's select a week and try to make this happen. January 6-11. I need four schools to host. You could host on tuesday or wednesday, January 7th/8th and we will repool based on results on Saturday, January 11th. One problem we may run into is schools hosting may be in same pools when repooling. Ideas? Willing to host?? Lets talk about this.

We Currently have 4 pools of three possibly. Would love to have 4 more teams to maximize matches. and maybe a few alternate teams depending on county color code system. Shady has agreed to host. Any others that can host. Looking for three more host teams hopefully in separate parts of the state to minimize travel during the week.

West Fairmont may be able to host one of the locations for this quad. We are getting dates for the Fairmont Senior Field House (old Woody Williams Armory) - very large facility for people to space out for COVID regulations. It can hold (5) mats for the Winner's Choice tournament.

Huntington Middle can host any day but January 7 at its gym.

Oak Glen Middle would be interested. We will likely have a full lineup. Unfortunately, we wouldn’t be an option to host. I would also need to know a date for the prelim pool. I am definitely interested and highly motivated to move some matches around to make it work.

Not sure if it could be some sort of series to get to a final four, but I don't think I will get support to travel on a weeknight. 3/4 week event Fri/Sat tris or quads leading up to?

We are looking at the week of January 4th - 9th. Preliminary Quads on tuesday or wednesday depending on hosts. then repool for saturday January 9th. Teams could travel further on weekends than during the week.
