Used this deceptive topic title to trick all those who never would have checked it out if they knew it was actually about South.
In all honesty though it actually is about the different weight classes used in OH compared to WV. We never had to deal with that last year, for obvious reasons. Was just at the Marysville Duals where South had to shuffle their line-up for the OH weight classes. Although it would seem subtle, it actually adds an extra middle weight to one's line-up and essentially one less upper weight. I know that was the intent based on studies of participation. They will have to deal with that again the next weekend up at the Ironman, as will the other WV wrestlers going. The same will happen to all the OH teams coming to the OVAC tournament in Wheeling in January. It may be a little harder for some of them as they would likely to prefer their 157, 165, and 175 to all drop down 5 pounds to compete, which may not be possible. WV teams have to come up with an extra 157 pounder while their 160, 170, and 182 all have to wrestle up 5 to 8 pounds. In South's case their 195 bumped all the way up to 215, as they have no true 220. Just a little different world than what we had to deal with pre-pandemic, but then again isn't that true in all things?
