Re: Dual meet rosters
In dual meets the wrestler/wrestling team that has choice for that match has to report first. That’s why it is sometimes important to know whether your team needs choice in the odd or even matches. If a team has forfeits or multiple wrestlers at one weight class, they may want to decide which wrestl...

Re: Liberty Harrison
Look on trackwrestling.com or the App Store for the trackwrestling scoring app. It's free for keeping score and you can pay $50 for it to keep your stats for a year. It has line ups for every team I've tried to find and it can be used on line or off line with just about any device. Key word is free!

Re: Liberty Harrison
I use the app I got from trackwrestling for free. It's similar to the takedown one but you have to have someone very reliable to run it which Liberty does.

Philip Barbour
Philip Barbour is in need of teams on January 16. We currently can fill all of the weight classes plus six JV matches. All of your kids would get a match or matches. Elkins will be coming but we'd like to have at least one more. We would also be willing to commit to a return trip.

Re: Hats?
I tell the WV boys and girls I coach not to wear their hats inside all of the time. I won't be telling any adult to take his or her hat off. That's their responsibility.
All of the other sports mentioned above are outside, go figure.

Re: Spot the Principal
We always have an administrator at our home matches and we've had the current superintendent and the previous superintendent both attend wrestling matches at home. We will probably have two principals at the state tournament too.

Re: Last second weight changes?
coach70 I have thought about this and the wording since the rule came in. I think it should be 50% of all matches/weigh ins after a wrestler is eligible for the weight class. I don't think it has ever been stated that way though. The way it reads now, IMO, is if you never reach your mww, you never h...

Re: Change Rules on Dual Meets Counting as Weigh Ins
IMO we as coaches have more than enough weigh ins to work with. We have kids getting 50-60+ matches per year. We now have kids approaching 200 wins. Do we really need this. In four years of college wrestling on a great team, the vast majority of our matches were duals. We had a longer season with fe...

Re: JV Trivia - Week Ending January 14th
It is an interesting conversation but no one has mentioned the fact that some of these JVs are as good as they are because they wrestle and drill and practice with these great varsity guys every day. If you put some of these guys in another room they might not be as good.

As I said before, the topic of the thread is East Fairmont and Indy. I'm sure a match with South would be a great one but that's a topic for another thread. I'm not from any of these great programs but it's frustrating to read the post about a great duel between two great teams and have to wade thro...

Re: Time for 3 classes
Also, I can see AAA suffering greatly the next four years because the number of schools now in that class. With all of the rants about alignments and classes, I'm really surprised more people didn't fight to get the classifications more even.
5-8 wrestlers per class per regional is pretty low.

Re: Time for 3 classes
As a soccer coach I was told that in order to split the classes there has to be enough teams in place at each level. If this is still the case and cross country which has something like 93 teams in AA-A has not split into three classes then wrestling will not be splitting any time soon. As for my op...

Re: New Regions AAA - WOW
A certain percentage of the schools with wrestling needs to be reached in order to create a separate class for A. I went through this when I coached track several years ago and more recently coaching soccer. We were told that if there are enough teams then the classes would be split into two groups....

Tench is correct, if you want to go up in class it has to be in all sports.
