Re: "Wrestle Ins"
You might have provided more support for the regional problem. If some of the preseason ranked wrestlers only qualified last season because of being in a weak weight class in a weak region, then we needed a modified system last season. We didn't have it. The football community held almost all winte...

Re: "Wrestle Ins"
As I have previously stated, I understand one of the basic points you are trying to make. I will concur with you on the concept that the regional alignment of wrestling being based on geography makes a comparison between what teams/individuals reach the state playoffs/tournament much different in w...

Re: "Wrestle Ins"
[quote="Bearhugger"][quote="Panhandlewrestling"][quote="Bearhugger"] THE WRESTLING REGIONS ARE SET UP PURELY BASED ON GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION. THE REGIONAL MAPS ON THIS SITE CLEARLY ILLUSTRATE THIS. AA/A REGION 1 HAS MUCH MORE TALENTED WRESTLERS THAN AA/A REGION 2 OR 3. SOM...

Re: "Wrestle Ins"
I kind of like the idea of adding each regions 5th place wrestler to the state tournament. Not for the fact of benefiting one region over another but to award the athletes for the months of hard work. Add a Pigtail round on Thursday evening and let them face a fourth-place winner from another regio...

Re: "Wrestle Ins"
With the current challenges high school football is having, the term "play ins" has been thrown around as a solution. Football is wide open as far as setting up its state tournament. Wrestling is locked into its geographical regions that are based on just that, geography. Perhaps it is ti...

Re: Bear Tracks AAA - Preseason 1st Edition
Is it not four classifications like everything else now? Is quad A going to be a part of wrestling or are they just going to combine triple and quad like single and double? No, wrestling and a few other things are not changesd to the 4 class system and it is not AAAA and AAA as one and AA and A as ...

Re: Bear Tracks AAA - Preseason 2nd Edition
I presume this is the place to post comments on the rankings. Obviously it is early, to say the least, but since wrestling is also a team sport I thought I'd check and see how the team race is shaping up. No predictions intended, just wondering at how things look, especially with Fairmont Senior now...

Bearhugger, are you using the list posted by WVU (their Forum name) on another post, which may be just some random and unknown poster on another websites idea of what they think it should be? I've asked on that post the source of this Realignment thay everyone is reacting to.

Yes you may or may not be an adult but you are surely talking. You have given zero examples of your ridiculous theory. Region 1 IS way better than your region. Period. You are making silly statements now. Region 1 has done very good, there is no denying that. However the rules are the rules and eac...

Re: Reigon 1 AA-A compared to Region 4 AA-A and the rest of AA-A
Ok again is region one tougher than region 2,3, and 4? The answer is “yes” Generally speaking, I believe it is more difficult to place top 4 in Region 1 AA/A, than in the other three regions and this is possibly shown by the number of placers at the state tournament, in the 7 years being discussed....

Wait… aren’t you the guy that thought a person could move up a bunch of weight classes or something?? I’ll take twice as many state placers over more champs any day Just look at region state tournament points. Thats all that matters. I get that some “fans” don’t understand the ins and outs of wrest...

Re: Reigon 1 AA-A compared to Region 4 AA-A and the rest of AA-A
Would love to know the stats of state place winners/champions that have come from Region 1 AA-A compared to the other regions since the 2016-2017 season when Region 1 scooped up Berkely Springs, Frankfort, and Keyser. Since that season Region 1 has become ridiculously unbalanced compared to the res...

Re: Last Man Standing aka Last Chance Qualifier
I have brought up the idea of a one class tournament several times and it keeps getting shot down. There are states out there with much larger populations than West Virginia that have one classification tournaments. For instance, Kentucky's population is just over 2.5 times more than ours in West V...

I attended AA/A Region 1 on Saturday. 1. I was probably the only person in attendance that was not affiliated with any of the participating schools. 2. The level of competition surpassed any event I attended this past season. The only exception might be the WSAZ but it is very close. More to come. ...
