Re: Region 1 A/AA
You said "where was the outrage when it was region 4" Im just saying it was NEVER region 4. Thanks 2006 region 4 places 33 at states…meaning the other 51 spots was between three regions…average 17 per region. Not quite rankings…not double. But…close. You’re welcome. “Beware of the ringwor...

Would regionals need fixed annually? Why is there not this same outrage when it was region 4? Why is it always us northern folks crying loudest? Re: Region 1 A/AA
I'm not exactly new to wrestling, but how long ago was it the region 4 had twice as many ranked kids as any other to regions combined? I don’t know about rankings, but region four placed more kids in Huntington and had more champs for a long stretch mid 2000s to mid 2010s I’d say. That’s when the R...

Any idea who his regular season losses were too? I find it interesting that he had just one loss every year and am curious.

That list is too big to be swept under the rug and I 100% agree with every one. Every 1 & 2 should a been split. If you do it for one weight class you do it for all. To do otherwise brings the tournaments legitimacy into question. This is the state tournament. Not a 3 ring circus trying to give...

Re: AA/A ranked wrestlers per region
Wrestlers with losing records making the state tournament is exactly why there should be just one class. The state is watered down enough So only reason this can happen is because the region is weak vs a kid hitting their stride? Maybe healed up from injury? Maybe recovered from bad weight cuts? Ca...

It is 2 weigh ins… Don’t see how the state duals can count with it being a post season event / not counting as a weigh in for participating teams, but then again we are dealing with the WVSSAC here and they are about worthless… so…. But, it ultimately won’t matter, he will get tossed again at states...

Would Brothers have a better shot at a 4th title at HW? Time is running out to test the 285 waters. If he had the available weight ins, he could have entered the WSAZ at 285. The seeding meeting is today at 2pm I heard. Somebody better make some calls. On the other hand, the OVAC showed us that the...

Re: Dutton Award 2022
I have a different spin If it is a season award then it goes to Raike. Derek outperformed Gage at Fargo, Ironman, and Powerade. If it is a career award then we look back to last year when Gage whipped Derek twice. Either way both are very good representatives of WV wrestling. So what about last yea...

Re: Dutton Award 2022
Why is this even a question right now? Who is currently the more dominant wrestler, Raike or Wright? Last time I checked Wright is dropping weight classes to chase national ranked wrestlers and bumping up weight classes to beat state champions. If they were to wrestle best of 3 who wins? Doesnt mat...

Really enjoyed the input on this! Guess I’ll stir pot some! Got to eliminate Wright. If Amos don’t get it as a sophomore with a far better resume, then Wright can’t get it as a freshman. Only going on pure hearsay. I was told that the138 match went to double overtime. The SV guy escaped and thought he had won. But ... there were about 15 seconds left on the clock. I'd be hard pressed to have Boyers in the discussion, even with a fourth title. He lost to Raike in what ended up being a techpin two years ago. That's a pretty decisive head to head. I agree it's Quiocho's to lose. I think there are a few interesting matches for him that'll tell the tale throughout...

I'd have to agree whole-heartedly that the "easiest" route to being dominant is in the upper weight classes. I feel this is case at all levels of competition, and this can be seen both at NCAA tournament and trickle down below. Let's just look at the last NCAA wrestling tournament over las...
