CONSTITUTION

BY-LAWS
2008-2009
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PREAMBLE
We
are committed to bringing children to a high level of achievement on the mat and
off; to develop positive selfconcepts; to enhance social and emotional growth;
to cultivate individual strengths and talents in a supportive environment where
wrestlers learn the rewards of hard work, the value of good sportsmanship, the
virtues of discipline, the lessons of fairness, the joy of winning, and dealing
with losing; and finally, to learn their responsibilities as members of a team
and their community, whereever they may be.
We, the people from
the Southern Coalfields of West Virginia, do hereby establish a Conference for
the purpose of teaching the fundamentals of wrestling and sportsmanship. The
conference shall be known as the Southern Coalfield Conference (SCC).

TEAM GUIDELINES
Territory for recruiting wrestlers will be the same
as school districts they attend, you can't go outside of your district to
recruit wrestlers. Coaches must refrain from recruiting wrestlers that are on
other teams in SCC. Such conduct will not be tolerated and could lead to
banishment from the conference. All wrestlers must stay with their original team
from year to year and may not switch teams thereafter unless the below
guidelines are met. A wrestler wrestling on a team before a team in that
district comes into the conference has a choice to wrestle for which team they
wish. Wrestlers that want or need to switch teams must have a valid reason to
wrestle for another team, being approved by these 2 teams coaches and if the
conferences president agree to the switch. Any wrestler may sit out an entire
season and then be free to wrestle with any team of their choice. It must be
stated that dissatisfaction of a coach or teams performance is not valid grounds

act in such a way that will be in the best interests of the entire conference
and not one team or
individual.
