2019 Mountaineer Match-Up

Liberty High School would like to thank those who participated in the 2019 Mountaineer Match-Up. There was a lot of great wrestling at the Nathan Goff Armory for 2 days. A PDF of the two days team scores has been submitted to WVMAT score (the file says to large to post here). Teams that would like the individual results of matches are asked to post their own to the scores page on WVMAT.

Congratulations to Braxton County High School for taking home the overall team trophy.
Congratulations to Russell Murphy (145), Liberty High School for receiving the Most Outstanding Wrestler Award 106-145 weight class.
Congratulations to Jake Whiting (160), Roane County for receiving the Most Outstanding Wrestler Award 152-285 weigh class.

Overall we believe the tournament ran as smooth as possible. Wrestling on Friday began at 4:10 pm and concluded at 9:00 pm. Wrestling on Saturday began at 10:05 am and concluded at 4:05 pm. Thank you to the wrestlers, referees, parents and fans who spent your weekend with us. We look forward to seeing you again next year.

This looked like a very good event. I would have come if it was on a different weekend. It sounds like the competition was fierce in many weight classes and I see the fans are commenting with "enthusiasm". Good stuff.
