Question ..... How many rounds are you planning on running Friday evening? I was hoping to come and watch some Friday night because I will be at Hurricane High Saturday. You said there was going to be 5 mats and you have 20 teams coming. So with half the teams setting out each round, I wasn't for sure how many you were gonna try to squeeze in Friday night.

We will have five pools of 4 teams Friday. Each team wrestles three times Friday with no byes.

Saturday we re-pool into four pools of 5 teams each. Each team gets four matches.

The top teams (winner of top two pools on Sat) wrestle for championship. The winners of the other two pools wrestle for 3rd-4th.

So all teams get 7 matches, 4 teams will get 8 matches.

COACHES!!

Please have you team ready to weigh in at GWHS at 3:30 pm SHARP! We ask all teams to meet in the lower auxiliary gym. We will close the doors and have all teams weigh in by pool (the pool assignment will be handed out tomorrow at 3:30 upon arrival.

We will start wrestling at 5:00 pm sharp after weigh ins and a short coaches meeting to explain the format, schedule, etc.

Be prepared, there will be no chairs for the teams wrestling (we attend many HS duals like this). Keep your team together and ready to wrestle as there are no byes tomorrow.

Anyone have any results from the tournament?? I went and watched Friday night but was unable to attend today because of a High School Tournament. From what I saw Friday night, Point and Edison both looked strong. Point maybe more so than Edison, all depends on match-ups. Both Fairmont teams looked like they had a few good wrestlers on their team, but not as complete as Edison and Point. Huntington East look down from what I saw, probably a rebuilding year for them. Milton looked really down. Seemed they had several holes but the kids they have looked scrappy and could compete.

Nicely ran tournament by the guys from GW... ran smooth, officiating could use a lot of improvement. There were a lot of calls mis- made and missed. Quality wrestling with a lot of emotion! Thanks for the invite again and your welcome for the entertainment.... lol. Hats off to you guys for the job you did
