Acceptable Results

Now let’s talk about acceptable results.

Is being 12th out of 13 in the Big 12 tournament an acceptable result? No of course not but that is a small piece of the whole picture. The team was without their best wrestler and the next best wrestler was unable to compete the second day due to a very serious illness. These two would have accounted for serval more points. The team did put a total of 5 guys on the podium which was an improvement and they qualified 7 for the national tournament. That in itself is big improvement.

People want to see more improvement and better results but no one will say what they expect to see. Personally I think the recruiting has improved dramatically over the last several years and they are able to pick up a few high quality transfers. It’s not exciting and is not instant results but once you get better athletes coming in the results will follow.
