How can you not have Gibson from Hurricane in top 10 at 145.... Better back up and do some research.....

you better back up and read my first two sentences. idid in fact overlook the riverside match where he beat green 8-4. based on that alone i would have to rate gibson # 2 and he should have a good shot at winning the state. after he finished 4th in R-4 last year and then going 0-2 at the state i admit i did not give him a good look. he must have worked very hard in the off season. it looks like he's improved a great deal. hurricane as a team has really improved and i would not be surprised if they had up to seven young men place at the state. good luck hurricane and keep up the good work.

Last I checked Wolfe majored Holstein when they last met at WSAZ's?

What grade is Gibson from Hurricane in?

again, read my first two sentences. i'm basing this years picks on this years results. holstein beat haynes and haynes beat wolfe. i think you can tell by my handle i'm a south fan. i'd like nothing better than to see wolfe win the state. i heard he's been wrestling a little banged up. once he's 100% healthy he will be hard for anyone to handle. other than the loss to haynes his only other in state loss has been to myewrs-wp and he has already avenged that loss. holstein is 19-0 this year (so he must be pretty good) and i know hurricanes schedule hardly compares to ours.**************** I'M GOING TO MAKE MY FIRST STATE CHAMPIONSHIP PREDICTION RIGHT NOW*******BY STATE TOUNAMENT TIME WOLFE WILL BE IN THE FINALS

Wolfe cannot be overlooked. Holstein has put in tremendous offseason work. 220 will be an interesting class, along with 195. As far as 145. Not taking anything away from Gibson, or the Hurricane program. Both have seen a very good amount of improvement. Harmon looks to now be in the 145 class, and I believe Adkins moved to 138. Adkins beat Gibson, and Green has beaten Adkins twice. If they meet again, the Gibson / Green match will be much different. The first match Gibson trailed 3-0 done a nice 5 point catch on Green, and the last take down he got was a desperation shot from Green. Pending on the way the pill falls, and the health of both wrestlers my prediction will be a Harmon/Green State Final match. Gibson should see the podium this year as well.

re: 145
Gibson actually won 8-3 over Green (wrong score entered on wvmat). I would expect a rematch to be a good contest. Maybe at WSAZ or MSAC.
In regards to rankings at this point, Green at #2 makes sense. His resume for the season is solid, and he is a returning state placer. Someone mentioned Gibson only because he has defeated the posters listed #2 Green (8-3 dec), #9 Lasure (11-2 maj. dec) and #10 Goode, but was excluded from the posters top 10 list. They just felt he deserved a mention somewhere on the list.
But its tough to look through every score result. Overall the list isnt bad.

Harmon at 145 shook things up a bit and thats were he is staying. AT 220 dont forget about Mills from Huntington Hill from Point and even Myers from Wheeling Park to be continders for that state title. At 195 Pomaroy shocked alot of people beating the White boy from Clay.

Is McCormick, 106 CM, staying there or bumping to 113. He has a slew of scores at 113. Same question of Martin from South. Is he staying 113, or bumping to 120. I saw him at Wheeling against Stuebenville at 120.

Is Swafford from Woodrow 152 cause I'm hearing hes wrestled a lot at 145?

according to the results i found on wvmat.com mccormick has had 10 matches at 106 and only 3 at 113. i don't know why woodrow wilson hardly ever puts their results on wvmat.combecause i've only found 4 matches for swafford (1 at 145, 1 at 152 and 2 at 160) I was at the wheeling park duels and martin-south had 5 matches at 113 on friday winning all 5 and did not make weight on saturday. Blasko from Steubenville won by forfeit against south.

It is common for wrestlers to bump up in duals. I would pay more attention to the individual tournaments when trying to figure out what weight someone is wrestling.

Yup, some coaches bump wrestlers all over the place in duals looking for better matchups, forfeits, or whatever.

Lanhams 138 and harmons 145 and Adkins is 138 too so throw those guys in the right class

lanham is 7-6 at 138 and 1-0 at 145 according to the results on wvmat.com. i heard they were moving him to 145 (a much easier class) and putting parde at 138. probable a better move for the team. harmon is 17-2 at 138 and 4-0 at 145 andhe wrestled 138 at the powerade. if your referring to ATKINS, he wrestled 145 at the powerade and is 12-5 at that class. he's 3-0 at 145.

Lanhams only lost to one instate guy and that's Lucas Simpsons and the rest are out of state and Lanham is 11-6 as what I heard. And he's staying at 38 too what I heard.

Has anyone but me notice the 195lb for point hasn't had a wrestler in that spot for a few weeks. Are the scores not posted right or did Safford stop wrestling? Good wrestler hope he is ok.

After wrestlers meet up in 145 you guys will have to rethink your seeds
