Marshall University is currently active in their first year in the National Collegiate Wrestling Association. This is a great opportunity for wrestlers to continue their wrestling careers on the collegiate level. We are currently a student ran Club Team on campus. We currently have 8 wrestlers on the team with what looks to be a promising future. We are expecting to grow in numbers as early as next semester.

In this day and age when most universities are looking at contraction of sports it is great to see a university growing a sport towards the future way to go Marshall.

That is awesome! I think with some work this program will get much bigger. Lots of Marshall grads. Wish it was there when I went.

Great news! Please post some info on the where and when for the Thundering Herd Duals - I'll make sure Doc knows to put it on the front page. We as a wrestling community need to get out and support these guys to help the program grow.

What is the 2015-16 schedule??

As many old timers remember, the Herd had a wrestling program that got discontinued in the early 80s. Many of the wrestlers stayed at Marshall to finish their education. I heard many got their scholarships (whatever they got) honored, thus they stayed. Anyway, I wrestled Intramurals as a freshman.

My first (and last) opponent came walking out on the mat wearing a Marshall University singlet. Needless to say, he won our weight class.
