Re: Clarion Open
I was able to watch on and off, and feel very similar. Overall, WVU seemed to preform very neutrally throughout the day. There were a few bright spots (Carmen, Hall, Lautzenheiser, etc.). There was also a lot of wrestlers that had up and down days (Wolfgram, Roberts, Boyd, and others). Overall I th...

Re: WVU in Big 12. Opportunity or Oh $h!t??
In a previous post I listed the wrestlers who did not participate in wrestle offs. “Cardinale? Lautzenheiser? Rhoads? Titus? Roberts? Karam? Cicciarelli? Sharer? Bradbury? Mileto?” Of these ten, still no Cardinale, Rhoads, Karam, Cicciarelli, Sharer, Bradbury, Mileto for the Clarion Open. Being an ...

Re: Intermat NCAA Tournament Projections
I agree the loss of Noah and Sullivan hurts. Noah was the last of the Henson guys so you are right Henson is in the past and does not affect the results of this team. I agree with you that it is time for our coaches and fan base to have stop blaming the past. Accountability can be tricky. I don’t c...

Re: Intermat NCAA Tournament Projections
Coach Flynn is doing a great job. Losing Adams and Sullivan are major hits. What Sam Henson did or who participates in Greco Roman wrestling are non factors in the success of WVU wrestling this season. What did I just read? Pssshhh!!!

Re: 17 former WPIAL wrestlers qualify for NCAA
Pennsylvania led the nation by qualifying 49 of its former high school wrestlers for the NCAA tournament. Ohio only qualified 26 and Maryland qualified 2 of its former high schoolers. Pennsylvania’s District 7 (WPIAL) —which adjoins Mon County —alone had 17 of PA’s 49 qualifiers. The next closest w...

Re: WVU vs Cleveland State Video 1-23-21
Because music was played during the event. I suppose there must be some sort of pre-agreement at WVU because the kids have music played on ESPN +. I’d love to watch the replay without subscribing to a site I’ll never watch again but the Gohio guy did great getting it on Netflix last weekend and his ...

I will concede that Covid is a threat to some. No more than icy roads, peanut butter or being caught with another woman. Re: OVAC
I'm all for amending the rules to create a 16 man bracket. If your top 4 already advance automatically, why grant a 1st rd bye at the actual tournament too? (correct me if I'm wrong about this) These young men and women will already be losing alot of matches throughout the season, likely getting 25-...

Re: AA-A regional alignment
If Point Pleasant would have been in Region 1 this season, we would have seen PP qualify maybe 0 to 2 less wrestlers for the state tournament. Lets split it down the middle and say 1 less STQ. This means the current region 1 teams would qualify 13 less wrestlers. To expand further, it is possible t...

Hence, no one team will beat Point but collectively the rest will work to put as many sad faces in their champion picture as possible. Sounds like that is the only thing the others can do. This tournament is great for elementary kids, it’s a money grab beyond that. 3 min matches for high school kids and only one period? First takedown wins essentially. It’s a tough tournament but it needs adjusted for the jr hi and hi school wrestlers imo.

Good Job to all the WV AA’s and participants at NHSCA
This was a killer in many if not all weights. Every wrestler who competed deserves credit for, not only traveling there but wrestling their butt off in one of the biggest tournaments of the year. This has to surpass TOC in attendance. Great job to all who competed, placed or won. WV had a large numb...
